In <em>Paez v. Rodriguez<\/em>, the appellate court affirmed a divorce decree that awarded the parties\u2019 entire marital residence to the wife, despite the husband\u2019s argument that the property should have been sold and the proceeds divided. <em>See Paez v. Rodriguez<\/em>, No. 03-24-00731-CV, 2025 WL 2325163 (Tex. App.\u2014Austin Aug. 13, 2025, no pet.).<\/p>\n<p>The case serves as a reminder that Texas courts are not required to divide community property on a strict 50-50 basis. Instead, courts must make a division that is \u201cjust and right,\u201d taking into account the circumstances of the parties and any children affected by the divorce. Tex. Fam.
