{"id":2850,"date":"2024-05-20T18:40:52","date_gmt":"2024-05-20T23:40:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mcclure-lawgroup.com\/blog\/?p=2850"},"modified":"2024-06-07T15:02:46","modified_gmt":"2024-06-07T20:02:46","slug":"texas-appeals-court-upholds-child-support-modification","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mcclure-lawgroup.com\/blog\/texas-appeals-court-upholds-child-support-modification\/","title":{"rendered":"Texas Appeals Court Upholds Child Support Modification"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Texas family law matters are often complex.\u00a0 A father recently challenged a modification order changing his child support obligation after a lengthy and somewhat complicated litigation involving the child.<\/p>\n<p>The mother petitioned for enforcement of child support and medical support in September 2022, asking the father be held in contempt and ordered to pay arrearages for child support and medical support, as well as attorney\u2019s fees.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Enforcement and Modification Hearing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/cases.justia.com\/texas\/fifth-court-of-appeals\/2024-05-22-01330-cv.pdf?ts=1715689864\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">appeals court<\/a>, the parties and court treated the matter as a modification action as well as an enforcement action during the bench trial. The father had previously been ordered to pay $592 in child support and $92 in medical support monthly.
