Fertility treatments and assisted reproductive techniques can be a miracle for many families.\u00a0 They may also, however, lead to complicated family law issues.\u00a0 A former wife recently appealed<\/a> a judgment awarding frozen embryos to her former husband in the divorce.<\/p>\n

According to the appeals court\u2019s opinion, the parties utilized IVF treatment and still had three embryos in cryogenic storage at the time of the divorce.<\/p>\n

The parties signed a \u201cConsent Form Cryopreservation of Embryos\u201d (\u201cAgreement\u201d) that addressed the storage of the embryos and made them subject to the disposition of the husband if the parties divorced.<\/p>\n
