Fam. Code Ann. \u00a7 102.004(a)(1).<\/p>\n<p>The parents had an on-and-off relationship for several years, according to the appeals court\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/cases.justia.com\/texas\/seventh-court-of-appeals\/2023-07-21-00203-cv.pdf?ts=1683279686\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">opinion<\/a>.
