FAM. CODE ANN. \u00a7 8.051.<\/p>\n<h3>Husband Ordered to Pay Spousal Maintenance<\/h3>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/cases.justia.com\/texas\/fourth-court-of-appeals\/2022-04-21-00298-cv.pdf?ts=1664369081\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recent case<\/a>, a husband appealed an order awarding spousal maintenance to the wife, arguing there was insufficient evidence supporting it.\u00a0 The parties had been married nearly 13 years when the wife petitioned for divorce.\u00a0 She sought spousal maintenance for a reasonable period after the divorce and the court awarded support for three years.\u00a0 The husband appealed.<\/p>\n<p>According to the appeals court, the trial court had ordered the husband to pay $1,458.24 in monthly child support plus all the child\u2019s insurance.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0She testified she earned $1,700-$1,800 per two-week pay period working about 32 hours per week.\u00a0 She said she previously earned $35 to $36 per hour at other jobs.
