The dispute in a Texas custody case is usually between the child\u2019s parents.\u00a0 In some cases, however, other parties may become involved.\u00a0 In one recent case<\/a>, the father\u2019s parents got so involved, they intervened in the custody case and the mother filed claims against them.<\/p>\n

In 2015, the trial court appointed the mother and father joint managing conservators of their daughter.\u00a0 The father was given the exclusive right to determine her primary residence.\u00a0 The daughter primarily lived with her father\u2019s parents and went to school in Santa Fe.\u00a0 The mother lived in Houston.<\/p>\n

The mother moved to modify the order after learning the father had been arrested.\u00a0 She sought the exclusive right to designate the daughter\u2019s primary residence and requested that the father be denied access or have his visits supervised.<\/p>\n
