{"id":1229,"date":"2019-02-04T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-02-04T15:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.texasdivorceattorneyblog.com\/?p=1229"},"modified":"2021-09-30T13:38:44","modified_gmt":"2021-09-30T18:38:44","slug":"texas-court-grants-custody-to-father-who-supports-kids-therapy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mcclure-lawgroup.com\/blog\/texas-court-grants-custody-to-father-who-supports-kids-therapy\/","title":{"rendered":"Texas Court Grants Custody to Father Who Supports Kid&#8217;s Therapy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A change in Texas custody may be justified even when both parents love and care for the child.\u00a0 A custody modification is appropriate when there is a material and substantial change in circumstances of the parent or child and if the change is in the child\u2019s best interest.\u00a0 Sometimes, changed circumstances put the non-custodial parent in a better position to provide for the child\u2019s best interests, even if everyone agrees that the custodial parent loves and cares for the child.<\/p>\n<p>A mother recently <a href=\"https:\/\/cases.justia.com\/texas\/fourteenth-court-of-appeals\/2019-14-17-00565-cv.pdf?ts=1548943160\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">challenged<\/a> a custody modification.
